Mon, 02 Sep 2024 07:57:26 +0000 scarlclipsit https://scarlclipsit.com/Cement-Fondu Beaded Coasters for Cement Fondu Art Gallery (2023) I was commissioned by Cement Fondu Art Gallery to create a series of beaded coasters for their shop during the exhibition Things That Are Real: Alvaro Barrington x Dean Cross. The exhibition celebrated cross-cultural and artistic exchange, bringing together international and local artists to explore themes of heritage and community. My coasters were designed to reflect the vibrant, experimental spirit of the exhibition, offering visitors a handcrafted, functional keepsake to accompany this unique artistic experience. <img recycle and give old garments a second life. while embroidery remains central to our work, we’ve evolved into a studio rooted in craft, circularity, and responsible design, offering functional accessories made from second-hand garments, deadstock fabrics, and locally sourced materials. through small collections and tailored pieces, we encourage a more intentional relationship with clothing, resisting fast production cycles in favor of thoughtful, slower choices. our approach is shaped by skateboarding, influencing the way we move, create, and imagine new ways of doing things — always evolving and never fully defined. moka studio is also a space for learning and exchange, where we offer workshops in upcycling and hand embroidery that support repair culture and nurture creative skills.Recently, we took part in Mind Pop Up at Melbourne Fashion Week 2025, a showcase of local designers dedicated to circular and regenerative fashion. <img width="2920" height="4593"
